22 New Year’s Eve Events in the Sacramento Area

Happy New Year! The start of a new year is always filled with hope, celebration, and excitement for things to come — in addition to an abundance of glitter, fireworks, champagne toasts, and live music.

Experience all of the above at these events in and around Sacramento. Plus, there are several kid-friendly events celebrating earlier in the day for those who wish to avoid the late-night crowd. Whatever you end up doing, cheers to a new year and all the possibilities it brings!

Noon Year’s Eve at the Crocker is one of the city’s beloved annual traditions. It is the perfect family-friendly solution for little ones who can’t stay up until midnight! Countdown to the new year at noon at this fun and free celebration, featuring live music, dance performances, and festive art activities throughout the museum.

 

New York New Year’s Eve Party

5–9 p.m. | Cante Ao Vinho, Rocklin

Celebrate the new year New York style at Cante Ao Vinho in Rocklin. In other words, celebrate when New Yorkers do, which means 9 p.m. our time! This fun event features heavy appetizers, wine available for purchase, and a performance from Vino Banditos at 7 p.m. Bring your dancing shoes to celebrate the new year with friends, amazing wine, and live music at this historic tasting room.

 

Stoney’s 11th Annual New Year’s Eve Bash

7 p.m. | Stoney’s Rockin’ Rodeo, Sacramento

Stoney’s Rockin’ Rodeo is throwing their 11th Annual New Year’s Eve Bash, featuring a midnight balloon drop, free champagne toast, and free late-night biscuits and gravy. There are a variety of ticket options ranging from $10 general admission tickets to a $250 VIP package for six, including bar entry for six guests, a private table in a prime location, six VIP Prime Rib and jumbo prawn dinners, and a bottle of champagne.

 

New Year’s Eve at de Vere’s Irish Pub

No one celebrates quite like the Irish, and that is certainly true for New Year’s Eve! In fact, you can celebrate the holiday twice at de Vere’s Irish Pub, as they countdown at both 4 p.m. (12 a.m. in Dublin) and again at 12 a.m. our time. That way, everyone has a chance to raise a glass to celebrate the new year! For both toasts, de Vere’s is handing out champagne and whiskey to anyone who would like to partake. Plus, there will be a special Prime Rib dinner available.

 

Sacramento Jazz Cooperative New Year’s Eve Gala

7 p.m.–1 a.m. | Sacramento Masonic Temple, Sacramento

For the first year ever, the Sacramento Jazz Cooperative is throwing a New Year’s Eve Gala at the Masonic Temple Ballroom. Enjoy a buffet dinner catered by Pheasant Wood Catering and live music from Carolyne Swayze with the Dave Bass Trio and the Cunha Big Band with Vivian Lee. Plus, there will be a champagne toast at midnight! Evening dress attire is suggested. Tickets are $80 per person or $150 per couple. SJC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and ticket purchases to its New Year’s Eve Gala are tax-deductible as they strive to preserve classic jazz as an American art form.

 

New Year’s Eve at Roller King in Roseville

7 p.m.–1 a.m. | Roller King, Roseville

This is the perfect activity for kids who want to stay up late to celebrate the new year. Visit Roller King in Roseville for an evening packed with activity on New Year’s Eve. $20 admission includes skate or inline rental and a balloon drop at midnight. The party starts at 7 p.m. and goes all the way until 1 a.m.!

 

Old Sacramento 2nd Street Bars NYE Celebration

Old Sacramento Bars New Year's Eve

The fireworks show in Old Sacramento is an annual tradition each year, as is the non-stop party at the bars along 2nd Street. Purchase tickets to gain access to Fanny Ann’s, O’Mally’s, Sports Corner, the Other Office, and the River City Saloon. Simply show your special wristband and ID to enter any of these bars throughout the night. Remember to have fun, and more importantly, stay safe!

 

Last Laughs at Punch Line

7:30 + 10 p.m. | Punch Line, Sacramento

Get the last laugh of 2017 at this annual show, either at 7:30 or 10 p.m. Each show features favorite local comics including Ngaio Bealum, Kelly Pryce, John Ross, DJ Sandhu, Mary Van Note, Raj Dutta, Kiry Shabazz, and more. The 10 p.m. show has a special toast at midnight and dancing until 2 a.m.! Both shows are for those 18 and over, and there is a two drink minimum for those over 21.

 

Midnight Players NYE Party

This lively event at DoubleTree is back for another year of non-stop fun with one of Sacramento’s best party bands, The Midnight Players. Plus, hear music from other fun and talented groups throughout the evening. Purchase tickets for this party that starts at 8 p.m. or as early as 6 p.m. if you purchase a VIP ticket! An all-inclusive VIP ticket or regular VIP ticket includes a full buffet dinner!

 

New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball

Dance to music all night long until the party ends at 2 a.m.! Tickets cost $150 per person. Black & White New Year’s Eve Party

8:30 p.m.–2 a.m. | McClellan Conference Center, McClellan Park

Party with 97.5 KDEE and the CBCC Foundation at the Black & White New Year’s Eve Party, featuring non-stop DJ music all night plus a balloon drop at the stroke of midnight. Pre-sale tickets cost $45 and VIP table tickets are $450, including tickets for 10 people, a private table, party favors, and a free champagne toast at midnight.

 

Davis Odd Fellows New Year’s Eve With Mumbo Gumbo

8:30 p.m.–1 a.m. | Odd Fellows Hall, Davis

Ring out 2017 and ring in 2018 with bubbly champagne, noisemakers, and wonderful music at the Odd Fellows New Year’s Eve Party with Mumbo Gumbo in downtown Davis. The price of admission includes dancing all night long to the soul, zydeco, Cajun and Caribbean stew that is Mumbo Gumbo, plus party favors and a traditional champagne toast at midnight. There will also be appetizers served throughout the evening and desserts, coffee and tea available in the Lower Hall. Tickets cost $50 per person, and if all 225 tickets sell out, there will be no more available at the door! So make sure you get your tickets in advance.

The Hyatt Regency is throwing the ultimate New Year’s Eve party with NOW 100.5 FM and MIX 96. Admission includes a complimentary photo booth, party favors, and a champagne toast at midnight. Plus, sip on some bubbly and enjoy the smooth sounds of Love & Honey in the lobby before you party into the new year with DJ music and dancing in the Regency Ballroom. General admission tickets are $75 and VIP tickets are $125, but each increase to $95 and $145 after December 30. So purchase your tickets early!

The Sacramento Children’s Museum is hosting their second annual Who Year New Year’s Eve Party, featuring dancing, noisemaker-making, bubble stomps, games, light refreshments, and museum play. The festivities culminate with a special New Year’s countdown at midnight. Registration for this family-friendly event is just $5 for members and $7.50 for non-members!

 

2018 New Year’s Eve Celebration Featuring Surface

9 p.m.–2 a.m. | Local Burger, Elk Grove

Head to Local Burger in Elk Grove for a fun night ringing in the new year with the hit R&B group Surface. This lively burger joint provides the perfect atmosphere to celebrate. Cheers to the New Year NYE Fundraiser

All proceeds from this event will go toward CCY and their mission to improve and empower the lives of California’s homeless youth.
