Sacramento Beer Week – There’s an App for That
There’s that sliver of time between the Super Bowl and the opening day of baseball where beer lovers have little to drink to, but Sacramento Beer Week fills that once event-less void with ten days and hundreds of tastings dedicated to beer. The sixth annual event was founded in 2010 to celebrate “beer culture” throughout Sacramento and across the world.
The week is comprised of special tastings and events held at a myriad of bars, pubs, and restaurants February 26 – March 8. New organizers have launched a Beers in Sac App, which will access all the Beer Week events and locations, along with a map.
The entire week kicks off with the Brewers Showcase at the California Auto Museum. The gathering showcases more than 30 breweries from around the region, many creating libations specifically for this year’s festival.
The Capitol Beer Fest rounds out the ten days of tastings with more than 100 breweries and 300 varieties of beer available on the Capitol Mall Sunday, March 8. The gathering (which will take over an additional block of the mall) includes live music, free bike valet, and easy access to the light rail station.
