Held at Nugget Fields in Davis, this family-focused event features live music and performers, hands-on games, and food trucks offering savory snacks and sweet treats. Ideal for younger kids, the event will also offer face painting, giant bubbles, and a 360-degree photo booth.

Beer lovers can sample the best local brews at this annual event in El Dorado Hills. More than 40 craft breweries, cideries, and wineries will be pouring their beverages. There will also be live music and food trucks.

 Greek Food Festival | Roseville | Sept. 5–6

Whether you’ve got a craving for souvlaki or spanakopita, baklava or loukoumades, you’ll find it all at this popular event in Roseville. The two-day festival celebrates Greek culture through authentic Greek dishes, plus pastries, desserts, and beverages. You can also enjoy Greek folk dancing, music, and specialty vendors.

 Chalk It Up | Downtown Sacramento | Sept. 5–7

Now in its 36th year, Chalk It Up transforms Fremont Park in downtown Sacramento into a colorful canvas where artists create elaborate chalk murals. You can admire these works of art, enjoy live music, grab a bite to eat, or pick up locally made goods from onsite vendors. Plus, kids get free chalk to create masterpieces of their own!

 Fair Play 250 | Fair Play | Sept. 5–7

The wineries of the Fair Play region of El Dorado County will be celebrating America’s 250th birthday this Labor Day weekend. Nearly a dozen participating wineries will be offering their own specials, and many will have live music, barrel tastings, grape harvesting, and special food pairings. The event is 21+ and tickets include sips of their award-winning wines.

 80s Glow Party | Folsom | Sept. 12

Dust off those leg warmers and tease your hair — this party at the Folsom Palladio is all about those 80s vibes! A DJ will be spinning the hits from the 80s, while guests dance under black lights on an illuminated dance floor. There’ll also be a photo booth to capture memories of the totally tubular night.

 Ribs & Rods | Woodland | Sept. 12

Classic and traditional barbecue unite at this rib cookoff and hotrod car show held at the Yolo County Fairgrounds in Woodland. Visitors can check out the classic and custom cars, sample the contest entries along Rib Alley, and enjoy the beer garden. There are also family-friendly activities, making it a great event for kids and adults alike.

 California Brewers Festival | Discovery Park | Sept. 12

Hosted by the Point West Rotary, this lively event in Sacramento’s Discovery Park showcases the best in California craft brews. More than 40 vendors will be pouring their drinks, which include not just beer but also cider, sake, wine, spirits, and kombucha. There will also be a beer relay, food trucks, live music, and local vendors selling beer-themed merchandise. Best of all, proceeds benefit local organizations that help those in need.

 Aloha Festival | Auburn | Sept. 19

Experience the music, food, and culture of the Pacific Islands at this event in Auburn. You can watch hula and Polynesian dance performances, enjoy traditional music, and shop for island-inspired goods. Of course, there’ll be plenty of food vendors on hand selling popular dishes such as poke, lumpia, barbecue, and shave ice.

 Foothills Wine & Brewfest | Auburn | Sept. 19

Whether you’re a wine person or a beer person (or both!), you can enjoy it all at this event in Auburn. Local wineries and breweries will be offering tastes of their products, and you can grab a meal from the local food vendors. There will also be local music, games, and artisan vendors.

 Fall Family Fest | Roseville | Sept. 19

Vernon Street Town Square and Royer Park in Roseville are hosting this free fall celebration designed especially for kids. There’s a Truck Exploration Zone, hands-on activities, crafts, and plenty of inflatables to get the wiggles out. Also in store are live music and dance performances, lawn games, food trucks, and local vendors.

 Oktoberfest | Midtown Sacramento | Sept. 26

Raise a stein at this neighborhood block party at Der Biergarten in Midtown Sacramento. The 21+ celebration features German beer, German food, and German music. The entire block shuts down for this lively 21+ festival, which also features a DJ and games. Traditional German attire encouraged!

It’s no secret that Yolo County is an agricultural powerhouse, and you can sample the best local foods, wines, and beer during this event in downtown Davis.
