Sacramento Goes Hollywood Glam for Oscars
Hollywood may be the mecca of movies, but come Oscar time, Sacramentans hit the red carpet with the best of them. All the stars come out Sunday, February 28 for the industry’s biggest night and locals looking to get glammed up to watch the show in true Hollywood style don’t have to go far.
The Red Carpet Black Tie Ball takes place at Sacramento’s historic Citizen Hotel and includes a red carpet experience (complete with paparazzi) and viewing party. The awards will be shown on the big screen in the Metropolitan Terrace and all proceeds will benefit the U.C. Davis Children’s Hospital.
Sacramento area actors will gather at Pitch and Fiddle for Sacramento Casting’s showing of the 88th annual event. Raffles and drawings will be held throughout the evening.
Auburn’s Performing Arts Center will hold its annual Oscar gala at the State Theatre in downtown Auburn. Hosted by Capital Public Radio’s (and screenwriter and director) Matt Pacini, the evening includes a red carpet entrance and awards for most glamorous guests.
To see this year’s Oscar-nominated short films, head to Crest Theatre. Animated shorts will show Thursday, February 25.
