Celebrate the Fourth of July at These Sacramento Area Events

Who doesn’t love a birthday party? It’s even better when the whole country is celebrating! July 4 marks the nation’s day of independence and proud revelers come out in full force to celebrate the red, white and blue. Every city and every town across the nation hosts its own parties, ranging from impressive fireworks displays to parades and festivals.

The greater Sacramento area is no exception, with all types of community events scheduled to celebrate the Fourth of July. Coming together is a traditional way to show our country some love, and no matter where you live, there’s bound to be an event near you. Following is a county-by-county guide to some of the most popular Fourth of July events in the region, from Davis to Auburn, Roseville to West Sacramento!

Rancho Cordova 4th of July Celebration

July 3–4, 2024

This annual event in Rancho Cordova has grown over the years to become one of the largest Independence Day celebrations in the entire Sacramento region! Held at Hagan Community Park, the event includes live music, carnival rides, a parade, and nightly fireworks. New this year is Los Moralitos Circus, in which tumblers, acrobats, aerialists, trapeze artists, and contortionists put on death-defying performances.

Elk Grove’s Salute to the Red, White & Blue

July 4, 2024

Salute the red, white and blue at this family-friendly community event in Elk Grove. A bike parade, vendors, a food court, and live music round out the celebration, which concludes with a fireworks show after dark.

Arden Park Fourth of July Bike Parade & Festival

July 4, 2024

The Arden Arcade neighborhood of Sacramento puts on this community-focused event each year, which kicks off with a festive parade for cars, golf carts, bikes, and walkers. The parade begins and ends at Arden Park, where there’ll be live music, a kids’ zone, and hamburgers and hot dogs for sale. Best of all, the pool will be open with no cost for admission!

July 3–5, 2024

Bull riding, barrel racing, and trick roping are just a few of the draws at this annual Fourth of July event in Folsom. There are events for the little ones too, including mutton bustin,’ plus high-flying cowboy motocross and of course, fireworks. There’s also live music, dancing, and food.

The ultimate Fourth of July celebration in the Sacramento area is held at Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento. It’s an all-American event, with live music, a kids’ play area, food and drinks, and old-timey contests such as sack races and pie eating contests. A beer garden will offer local craft beers, and Club Level 21+ tickets will get you adult fun such as corn hole, ping pong and a full bar. After dark, they put on an impressive fireworks show.

Drake’s Red, White & Brew

Drake’s at the Barn is an expansive riverfront space, and this year they are hosting a special event leading up to — and following — the fireworks show at neighboring Sutter Health Park. The event kicks off at 6 with DJ music and of course, beer and other drinks from their onsite bar. They also have special Independence Day food specials, including grilled brats and firecracker pizza. There’s a silent disco at 8, and VIP tickets get you early access to the viewing area, fire pits, and private bar. The VIP areas are 21+, but other spaces are all ages.

Davis Fourth of July Celebration

Community Park in Davis hosts this Fourth of July celebration, which includes everything you’d expect in a family-friendly event: kids’ activities, food, and live music. There’s also a free game zone and of course, fireworks! That morning, the local Kiwanis club is hosting a 4th of July Kiddie Parade. Held every year since 1960, the parade invites children and families to decorate their bikes, strollers, wagons and scooters and roll their way through downtown Davis.

Woodland’s Independence Day Celebration

July 4, 2024

Woodlanders will be celebrating our nation’s independence during this annual event, which features activities throughout the day. It kicks off with a pancake breakfast followed by a bike parade departing Heritage Plaza. There’s even a prize for the best decorated bike (or scooter)! The party continues with live music, bounce houses, games, and free snow cones! There’s even a free swim fest at the community pool and of course, a fireworks show that night.

Winters July 3rd Fireworks

July 3, 2024

Thousands of locals head to Winters the day before Independence Day — July 3 — to celebrate early! A grand fireworks show takes place near the high school, with a viewing area on the football field. You can gather with friends and enjoy a picnic on the grass beforehand. There will also be food trucks and local vendors.

Fourth of July Events in Placer County

Roseville 4th of July Celebration

July 4, 2024

Roseville residents don’t have to travel far to celebrate the Fourth of July — this annual event is held right in their backyard! It begins with a parade through old town Roseville, traveling along Vernon Street until it hits Royer Park. There will be live music, games and activities for kids, plus food for purchase. That night, you can bring a blanket or chairs and watch a fireworks show at The Grounds.

Auburn Fourth of July Parade

Now held at Railhead Park, this popular event in Auburn is a great way to celebrate the Fourth of July. The day begins with a pancake breakfast followed by a parade that winds through old town Auburn towards the Gold Rush Museum. Later, the evening features live music, vendors, and a fireworks show at the park.

 Lincoln Fourth of July Celebration

July 4, 2024

McBean Park hosts this annual event in Lincoln, which has all the makings of a fun-filled day. It begins with a pancake breakfast fundraiser, followed by a parade in downtown Lincoln and a horseshoe tournament. McBean Pool will be open for those looking to cool off, and you can pick up food and beverages from onsite vendors. Later on, there will be games and activities followed by fireworks.

Fourth of July Events in El Dorado County

El Dorado County Fourth of July Family Blast

July 4, 2024

El Dorado County is hosting its own celebration with a fireworks event at the fairgrounds in Placerville. In the afternoon, families are invited to bring their barbecues and picnics to enjoy on the grounds, or they can pick up food to go at one of the food vendors. There’ll be live music followed by a fireworks show.

El Dorado Hills Fireworks & Freedom Concert

July 3, 2024

Held the day before the Fourth, this annual event in El Dorado Hills celebrates our nation’s freedom with live music. There are performances all evening, as well as activities for kids like face painting and balloon artists, food and beverages, and vendors. The evening culminates with a spectacular fireworks display.
