Is your dad a beer drinker? If so, you can build him a unique beer caddy (filled with his favorite brews, of course), courtesy of DIY Candy. The tutorial uses basic hobby board, and includes measurements for each piece, cut with a power saw and nailed together. You can stain or paint it whatever color you prefer. It even has a bottle opener on the side.

All it takes is some craft paper, glue, yarn and a straw — plus a free downloadable template. It also comes with a fill-in-the-blank where your kids can share why they consider dad a hero.
