Lyon Collects 9,743 Coats in 9th Annual Drive for Charity
The holiday season will soon be upon us, and while it brings joy to many, for those in need, it also brings the challenge of keeping warm this winter. That is why Lyon Real Estate’s 17 offices came together to collect and donate over 9,700 coats to their local communities during our 9th Annual Coat Drive.
“We are thrilled that we were able to collect 9,743 coats; we could not have done it without the hard work of our agents and the generosity of so many clients, friends and neighbors,” said Lyon Real Estate president Pat Shea. “Since Lyon launched our annual drive in 2010, we are proud to have donated over 70,000 coats to local organizations that serve those in need.”
This year, out of the 17 offices participating, the agents and staff of the West Roseville Rocklin office collected the most coats, totaling an amazing 2,601! Agents did outreach, picking up coats from the homes of friends, clients, and neighbors, held collection events, and their offices served as drop-off stations during the month.
Lyon is donating the 9,743 coats to over 25 local charities throughout greater Sacramento. Just in time for the chilly season, the coats will go to various homeless shelters, children’s homes, schools, and family service centers. Some of the local organizations that are receiving coats include Loaves and Fishes, Stand Up Placer, WEAVE, Women’s Empowerment, Wellspring, Wind Youth Services, Stanford Youth Solutions, Hands for Hope, Kids First, Northridge Elementary, STEAC, and The Gathering Inn.
In a time when Sacramento has over 6,000 homeless people and countless more in need, Lyon was honored to be able to make a difference. Take the opportunity this holiday season to make a donation of goods or time, knowing that your small efforts genuinely make a difference in many lives.
