Donate Coats to Lyon’s 8th Annual Coat Drive October 1–31!

We are hosting the 8th Annual Lyon Coat Drive throughout the month of October!

As temperatures drop, there is a greater need for warm winter clothing throughout the community. Donating coats is a small but impactful way to assist those in need as winter draws near.

Each year, Lyon hosts a coat drive throughout the month of October to gather new and gently used coats for local charitable organizations and shelters. All donations from the community and Lyon agents and staff directly benefit area agencies. To elevate our efforts, we partner with the Lyon Cares Foundation, which provides grants to local nonprofits that make their communities a better place. In the year 2018, Lyon Cares will give grants totaling $150,000.

If you have an extra coat in your closet, or can purchase one to donate, stop by any of your local Lyon Real Estate offices to drop them off. Bring a coat or two, and encourage others to do the same! From October 1–31, all of our offices will be accepting donations, including those found in Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, and Yolo Counties.

During the 2017 coat drive, Lyon agents and staff collected and donated 14,840 coats. Each Lyon office designates specific organizations to receive the coats and delivers them. Some of these included Elk Grove Coat Closet, STEAC, Mustard Seed School, Powerhouse Ministries, Sacramento Food Bank, and Sierra Family and Child Services.

Gather up any gently used coats and contact your Lyon agent to help with pick-up and delivery of your coats.
