Free Outdoor Yoga Classes to Join This Summer in the Sacramento Area
The only thing better than free yoga is free outdoor yoga. These nine classes provide just that! There’s something extra relaxing and rejuvenating about practicing yoga in the midst of nature with trees overhead, grass under your feet, and rays of sunshine on your skin. And better yet, each of these classes is designed to accommodate all skill levels, from beginner to advanced.
Grab your yoga mat and some water, put on comfortable clothes that allow for easy movement, and head to one of these beautiful parks in and around Sacramento for a fun and free yoga experience.
First things first, get acquainted with Yoga in the Park, a series of outdoor yoga classes hosted by Yoga Moves Us. They offer free vinyasa yoga classes all over the Greater Sacramento Area at a variety of parks throughout the week. Following their Facebook page is the easiest way to stay up-to-date on the latest happenings, including teachers, special events and schedule changes.

MiYo — Midtown Yoga in the Park | Midtown Sacramento

The Midtown Association has teamed up with Yoga Moves Us to present free MiYo yoga classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings through September at Fremont Park in Midtown. These 60-minute classes are free and open to guests of all ages and ability levels. Attendees are encouraged to bring yoga mats, water bottles, and a friend or two if they choose! Yoga in the Park at Community Park | Davis
Every Saturday 9 a.m. | Community Park
The scenic Community Park in the heart of Davis is the setting for this free weekly yoga class open to all levels. Bring a mat and some water and meet the group between the library and the baseball diamond for a 60-minute, all-levels class starting at 9 a.m.!

Every Saturday at 9 a.m., McKinley Park comes alive with a free all-levels vinyasa yoga class open to everyone. Grab a yoga mat, a water bottle, and comfortable clothes, and simply show up as you are. There are a limited number of yoga mats available for participants to borrow. This iconic East Sacramento park provides an idyllic setting for enjoying the calming practice of yoga.
Yoga in the Park at Lions Park | Folsom
Every Saturday 9 a.m. | Lions Park
Head to Lions Park, also known as Folsom City Lions Park, each Saturday morning at 9 a.m. for this free community yoga class open to all. Extra yoga mats will be available, but bring your own (and some water!) if you have one. The class meets in front of the Folsom Public Library.
Yoga in the Park at Maidu Park | Roseville

Yogis of Roseville and surrounding communities head to Maidu Regional Park each Saturday morning at 9 a.m. for an all-levels class open to all. This expansive 152-acre park has a small museum, a historic site, a community center, a library, and a Veterans Memorial Rose Garden. Yoga in the Park meets on the grass between the library and the community center. As usual, bring a mat, some water, and a friend if you’d like!
First Friday Fun Flow at Sutter’s Fort | Sacramento
First Friday of Every Month 6 p.m. | Sutter’s Fort
Join this fun music-inspired yoga class meeting on the first Friday of every month at Sutter’s Fort, an historic park situated in the heart of Midtown. Sponsored by Sutter Health, each class is free and open to all skill levels. Participants are encouraged to do what they can and take a rest break if they need to. Bring a yoga mat, some water, and a friend, if you’d like!

Every Sunday through September, a group meets at Tahoe Park in Southeast Sacramento for this free 60-minute yoga class suitable for all skill levels. Extra mats will be available, but be sure to bring your own if you have one. The class meets at the corner of 59th Street and 11th Avenue near the community pool!

This Meetup group is an exceptional community for Auburn residents to be a part of. They often post about HITT yoga classes (which are not free!) in addition to free or donation-based yoga classes in various parks around Auburn and Grass Valley. Plus, Common Ground Yoga organizes a number of unique yoga experiences, such as yoga for kids or yoga and hiking! Join this Meetup if you live in the area to stay in the know about all yoga happenings in Auburn and surrounding areas.
Donation-Based Classes With Summer Ward | Sacramento + Rancho Cordova
Every Monday at 6 p.m. + Every Wednesday at 8 a.m. | Camp Pollock + Soil Born Farms
Join Summer Ward of Seasons of Summer at either of her two donation-based classes in the area. She teaches a class every Monday at 6 p.m. on the deck of the lodge at Camp Pollock. Suggested donations of $15 will be used to support The Sacramento Valley Conservancy.
And each Wednesday at 8 a.m., join Summer for yoga in the outdoor auditorium at Soil Born Farms. Donations will help support the efforts and programs at Soil Born Farms! There will be cafe style goodies available after the class, such as coffee and pastries.
