Where We’re Celebrating Cinco de Mayo in the Sacramento Area This Year
Cinco de Mayo is this weekend! That’s right — the holiday falls on a Saturday this year. There are so many ways to celebrate in Sacramento, from festivals focused on all things tacos and tequilas, to kid-friendly expos with games, rides and lots of sweet treats.
Mark your calendars for the many activities and events taking place in the Sacramento area on Cinco de Mayo — all the way from Capay to Plymouth, and everywhere in between.
Capay Cinco de Mayo Festival
May 5 | Farm Fresh to You, Capay
Head to the Farm Fresh to You farm in Capay for a day filled with endless activity for all ages! The Capay Cinco de Mayo festival will feature authentic Mexican cuisine, local beers, treats from local businesses, you-pick strawberries and peas, live music and dancing, pick-up soccer games, kids’ activities, tractor tram rides, piñatas, a petting zoo, and more. This special event benefits the Kathleen Barsotti Non-Profit for Sustainable Agriculture. Tickets cost $20 per person in advance or $25 at the door, but the event is free for kids 12 and under. You may also purchase a ticket package for four adults for $70.
Cinco de Mayo at Bottle & Barlow
May 5 | Bottle & Barlow, Sacramento
Spend Cinco de Mayo at Bottle & Barlow, a unique cocktail-bar-meets-barbershop in the heart of downtown. Starting at 12 p.m., they are throwing their annual Cinco de Mayo party, with various drink specials and a taco-eating contest at 2 p.m. Better yet? There is no cover for this event.
First Fest!

Sacramento’s biggest music festival is returning to Tanzanite Park this Cinco de Mayo weekend. This two-day event is filled with live music spanning all genres, craft beer from local breweries, custom cocktails, locally brewed coffee, delicious food of all kinds, tantalizing desserts, and much more. The four outdoor stages will host musicians all day long and the indoor stage will feature comedy shows, DJ dance parties, spoken word, and more. Major headliners at First Fest! include Blackalicious, A Lot Like Birds, Butterscotch, Dog Party, Jonah Matranga, and Charlie Muscle. Cinco de Mayo in Old Sacramento

Spend this festive holiday in the heart of Old Sacramento, as a number of bars will be joining forces to create a fun and tequila-filled experience. Visit eight participating bars lining these historic streets, including the River City Saloon, which will have a DJ. All bars will be running specials on Casamigos Tequila, some will offer food specials and a variety of entertainment. All in all, Old Sacramento will be a happening place to be on Cinco de Mayo!
California Honey Festival

All week long leading up to Cinco de Mayo weekend, Downtown Woodland will be preparing for the second annual California Honey Festival. Restaurants and bars will offer unique honey-centric creations throughout the week. And on Saturday, the community will gather for the festival, designed to promote honey, honey bees and their products, and beekeeping through a unique educational platform. Attendees will enjoy lectures, demonstrations, and tastings at this all day festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the heart of Woodland. There will be plenty of food, wine and beer, and even a kids’ zone for the little ones!
6th Annual Italy on Wheels Festival
May 5 | The Murer House Learning Center, Folsom

Stop by the Muher House in Folsom for the 6th Annual Italy on Wheels Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 5. This free festival will feature a variety of classic and vintage Italian cars, motorcycles, scooters and bicycles on exhibit. Awards will be given for the top displays! Proceeds from this fundraiser will support the Murer House Foundation and its mission of protecting, preserving, and promoting the historic Murer House.
Cinco de Mayo at Zócalo
May 5 | Midtown, Roseville + University Village

You can expect a packed house at Zócalo, whether you’re at their Midtown, Roseville, or University Village location. As always, they will offer their daily happy hour from 3–6 p.m., which includes amazing deals on their famous margaritas and delicious small bites. Plus, listen to a live Mariachi band while you celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Zócalo! No tickets or a cover are required to enter.
Cinco de Mayo at Tequila Museo Mayahuel + La Cosecha
May 4–6 | Tequila Museo Mayahuel + La Cosecha
Enjoy a full weekend of Cinco de Mayo fun at both Tequila Museo Mayahuel and La Cosecha, located just a few blocks apart in downtown Sacramento.
Kick off the festivities at Mayahuel with a Mariachi band from 2–4 p.m. on Friday, followed by music from Dinorah and Kandia from 9 p.m. to midnight. And on Saturday, Dinorah is returning from noon to 2 p.m., following by a Latin DJ party from 5 p.m. to close. Mayahuel is offering a special Cinco de Mayo menu from 3 p.m. to close as well. The party continues on Sunday with drink specials (which are also offered on Friday and Saturday), including Don Julio Paloma for $8, a Frida Kahlo Reposado Passion Fruit Margarita for $8, and Azuñia Margarita Slushies for $6.
At La Cosecha, enjoy music from the Latin Party Crew Band from noon to 3 p.m., then Dinorah from 3–5 p.m. on Saturday, followed by a Latin DJ party from 6–9 p.m. All day on Saturday, order margaritas in the three colors of the Mexican flag. And on Sunday, La Cosecha is hosting Jardín del Arte, Cinco de Mayo style from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Kids Expo
May 5 | El Dorado Fairgrounds, Placerville
This kid-focused event is the perfect way to spend Cinco de Mayo with the family. This free Kids Expo at the El Dorado Fairgrounds in Placerville will feature hands-on activities and children’s performances designed for kids ages 1–10. The event is completely free and is presented by Choices for Children, a non-profit whose mission is to enrich children’s lives through innovative support, education and enhanced family and provider services.
Amador Four Fires Festival

The Amador Four Fires Festival is a one-of-a-kind food and wine immersion experience taking place at the serene and scenic Amador County Fairgrounds in Plymouth. The all-day event blends open-flame cooking by renowned local chefs, meet-the-winemaker sessions, cooking demonstrations, sensory stations, and of course, tastings of Amador’s award-winning wines.
The festival celebrates the four distinctive wine regions that inspire the Amador winemakers and winegrowers — Southern France, Italy, Iberia, and “Heritage California.” Nearly 200 wines from over 40 wineries will be poured at the Amador Four Fires Festival!
Visit with local merchants, enjoy live music, and admire art exhibits at this unique and lively wine-focused event in the heart of the renowned wine region of Amador County. Purchase tickets in advance for an unforgettable adventure in wine! Proceeds from the Amador Four Fires Festival will benefit the Amador County Fair Foundation and their Farm to Future Initiative.
Fiesta en la Calle — Cinco de Mayo Festival

This annual festival has attracted a crowd at Southside Park each year for over 40 years with Latin and Spanish-language entertainment, including a variety of musicians, bands and dancers. Enjoy authentic food, drinks and handmade crafts for sale, in addition to a myriad of festivities celebrating Latino culture. Fiesta en la Calle is completely free and family-friendly!
Cinco de Mayo at Mesa Mercado in Carmichael
May 5 | Mesa Mercado, Carmichael
Head to Mesa Mercado in Carmichael for an evening of festivities, featuring music from Dinorah from 6–8 p.m. and Erick Guerrero on guitar from 8–10 p.m. This vibrant and modern eatery focuses on the flavors, spirit and passion of classic dishes from Mexico City and Oaxaca.
