The Top Places to Host A Kid’s Birthday Party in Sacramento Depending on Their Age
When you’re a kid, turning a year older is an event that you look forward to for weeks. Can you remember the joy when you turned six and were finally able to use two hands to tell people how old you were? Now, even though we can barely fit enough candles on the cake, we still get so much joy celebrating our children’s birthdays. When it comes to planning the perfect day, there are plenty of venues in the Sacramento area that will help make it a party to remember.
Whether this is the first birthday party you’ve planned, or you’re just looking to step it up a notch for this next year, we’ve gathered up our favorite venues around town for each age group. So pick a space, sit back and enjoy the party, because we know the kids will be having a blast!
Ages 3-5
Your little one is just old enough to start really caring about his or her birthday, so now is the time to make it special! Here are some venues that are sure to be memorable for your young kids.
Bubblemania

There’s nothing quite as entertaining as watching a room full of young kids play with bubbles, and they love it, too! Bubblemania brings the show — and all of the equipment — to you, so you can entertain in style without even leaving the house. The little ones will have the opportunity to watch a Bubblologist perform a 30 to 40 minute indoor show with rainbow bubbles, square bubbles, small bubbles, big bubbles, bubbles within bubbles, and all of the above, and then try their hands at creating their own bubbles. See what everyone is bubbling about and book a bubblologist for your next birthday party.
Climbaroo
Climbaroo is the ultimate in indoor adventuring for young kids! The giant play area includes slides, ropes, ball pits, tunnels, giant foam blocks, bridges and so much more — aka, all of the ingredients for a good time. Book the package of your choice and enjoy pizza provided by Pete’s Restaurant and Brewhouse.
Laguna’s Awesome Party Palace
Everything about Laguna’s Awesome Party Palace is, well, awesome! With multiple blow-up bouncy castles, arcade games, plenty of tables and colorful decorations, this is the perfect venue for your little one’s big day.
Ages 5-9
Your child is getting older, which means that they’re also making friends with everyone in sight. Kids in this age range tend to invite their entire class (because they’re all his or her best friend, come on, Mom). Here are some venues that are fun for the elementary age group, and that can fit in larger groups!
Fairytale Town

What little girl or boy wouldn’t want to have their birthday celebration in Fairytale Town? If you have a child and you’re living in Sacramento, no doubt you have heard of this magical place before. But did you know that Fairytale Town is one of the most accommodating (and popular) birthday party locations in the area? Choose between five different areas within the park — King Arthur’s Castle, Pirate’s Cove, Pooh Corner (good for younger kids), Mr. McGregor’s Garden and the Sherwood Forest — for a party that is as unique as your child. The kids will love escaping into another world for a day, and you’ll love that most of the prep is done for you!
The Sacramento Zoo
If your little monster is a lover of animals, then a birthday party at the Sacramento Zoo will be a dream come true! Enjoy a reserved birthday party spot right next to the carousel for an hour and a half, where the kids can take as many spins as they like, fill up on cake, and watch the guest of honor open presents. Afterwards, the zoo is open for their exploration! We hear giraffes and elephants are the best party guests.
AMF Mardi Gras Lanes

There’s no party quite like an AMF Party. Once you book the space for your child’s special day, they’ll get to work planning the menu and getting you and the kids all set up for a fun-filled day of bowling with friends. When you and the party show up, you’ll be treated to a hot meal and decorations. While the kids are having a good time and wearing off their sugar rush, sit back with a drink and relax — everything is taken care of for you, because that’s just how they roll.
Color Me Mine
The party favors are built in at Color Me Mine, where kids will have a two hour window to paint the ceramic object of their choosing. The venue accommodates up to 25 people, and allows you to bring your own food, bevvies and cake, but does all the cleanup themselves so you don’t have to lift a finger! Additionally, all guests will imprint a commemorative handprint plate with their thumb prints and names for the birthday girl or boy to take home as a memento. All of the creations will be glazed and fired by the staff for you to pick up after the party is over!
A Dash of Panache
There’s nothing like a good ol’ fashioned tea party to get the girls talking! A Dash of Panache allows you to celebrate your birthday with a bit of propriety, and a lot of fun. Don your big, colorful hats and dresses, and bring your daughter and friends for tea, pastries, finger sandwiches and all the fixin’s.
Ages 10 and Up
Well, your kid is all grown up now (or so they think!). It’s time to step birthdays up a notch! Here are some ideas for the athletes, the divas, the artists and everyone in between, all of which will make your kid the coolest in school.
Surf Xtreme

Yeah, Surf Xtreme offers indoor and outdoor surfing, but it’s so much more than that. Not only will your kiddos get the chance to try a new sport in a safe and fun environment, they’ll also get to engage a number of other activities, including paintball, trampolining, painting, a kid’s makeover salon experience, and more — all in one fun-filled place. It’s basically a one-stop shop for the most radical birthday experience you can imagine.
Enchanted Memories
Enchanted Memories provides the ultimate, sleepover-like experience for your pre-teen or teenage daughter, and you don’t even have to lift a finger! Simply show up to your glamour party, pop star party or spa party with the gal pals and get ready for a two full hours of costumes, karaoke, makeovers, facials, pedicures, crafts, jewelry and lip gloss galore. The hostess will handle everything and make the sure the girls feel like the princesses they are!
Bonus: Little ladies can come for a princess, mermaid or fairy party, as well. See details here!
Recreate
If you’ve got a crafty bunch, or are just looking to try something new, Recreate might be the venue for you. Kids ages 8 and up can participate in the Maker Party, which allows them the chance to play with circuits and robotics, create custom jewelry with a laser cutter (that they’ll actually wear), build a claymation movie together, or even make a video game! Plus, kids can take their crafts home after the fact for a built-in party favor.
Little ones are welcome, too! Ages 5 and up can enjoy the art party, which involves crafting an art project with a chosen theme. Think: mermaids, monsters and pirates!
SkyZone
Your kid will love flying high at Sky Zone, Sacramento’s favorite trampoline park. Seriously, just imagine their face when they enter a room that’s covered in trampoline’s from wall to wall. It’s a dream come true, even for us adults! The staff here is very accommodating for birthday parties, and try their best to make it as easy as possible for the parents. All parties include 1 hour of jump time, unlimited access to the Foam Zone and SkySlam, 40 minutes in a private party room, pizza, soft drinks and all the utensils, a sky zone t-shirt, invites and envelopes, and skysocks for each jumper. What more could you need?
Happy Happy Birthday!
