20+ Things To Do This Easter in the Sacramento Area

Easter is coming up on Sunday, April 16. There are so many egg hunts, breakfasts, spring festivals, Easter Bunny photo opportunities, and other family-friendly events leading up to Easter in the area. Plus, many of them are completely free!
Dust off those egg baskets, iron the family’s pastel outfits, and mark your calendar for an Easter event (or two) near you.
Sacramento River Train Easter Egg Express

“Hop” on board the Sacramento River Train on the weekends leading up to Easter for a special springtime experience, complete with an egg hunt, a ride on the rails, kid-friendly activities, and a visit from the Easter Bunny himself! This 2.5-hour journey is offered the first three weekends of April, and is a fun and unforgettable adventure for both kids and kids at heart.
Wag Hotels’ 8th Annual Easter Egg Hunt for Dogs

McKinley Park (Sacramento)
Don’t leave your fur baby out of the Easter fun this year! Wag Hotels’ 8th Annual Easter Egg Hunt for Dogs benefits NorCal Bully Breed Rescue, and is a ton of fun for humans and canines alike. Enjoy finger foods and local vendors while your dog sniffs out eggs filled with tasty treats and valuable prizes and even poses for a photo with the Easter Bunny. Dogs and children under 12 may enter for free! Check in between 12 and 12:30 p.m. at McKinley Park, embark on the egg hunt adventure at 1, and participate in the raffle at 1:30.
EDH Spring Carnival

El Dorado Hills Town Center (El Dorado Hills)
The EDH Spring Carnival is a four-day extravaganza featuring thrilling rides, numerous games, and lots of food and drink options. Head to the Mercedes Benz empty lot at El Dorado Hills Town Center on any of the carnival days for an exciting opportunity to kick off spring the weekend before Easter. Pre-ticket sales are available at the California Welcome Center.

Funderland Easter Eggstravaganza

Funderland Park (Sacramento)
Funderland Park knows how to throw a party every day of the year, especially around holidays! On the Friday, Saturday and Sunday before Easter weekend, join their annual Easter Eggstravaganza with egg hunts, visits from the Easter bunny, and free arts and crafts. You may also enjoy free rides if you bring in new art supplies or games for the children at River Oak Center for Children. Egg hunts are limited to groups of 30 children at a time, and Funderland holds hunts every 30 minutes at the top and bottom of the hour, so everyone gets a chance to hunt for eggs!
Bunny Breakfast and Eggs Galore

Florin East Grammar School (Sacramento)
Southgate Recreation & Park District is hosting a special Bunny Breakfast followed by Eggs Galore & More at Florin East Grammar School. First, enjoy a delicious breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, milk, juice and coffee with some fun morning activities. Tickets purchased in advance cost $5 per family or $7 per family on the day of the event. Then, head to Olde Florintown Park for fun activities, an egg hunt and more! This portion of the day’s events is completely free.
El Dorado Hills Easter Eggstravaganza

El Dorado Hills Town Center (El Dorado Hills)
In addition to the EDH Spring Carnival, El Dorado Hills Town Center is hosting their Easter Eggstravaganza at Steven Young Amphitheater. Children may collect candy- and prize-filled eggs in the grass areas by the lake from four egg zone areas for ages 0-3, 4-5, 6-7, and 8 & older. Enjoy a special guest appearance by the Easter Bunny, a magic show, face painting and balloon artists!
Spring Fling

Palladio at Broadstone (Folsom)
Head to the Palladio at Broadstone in Folsom for a free, family-friendly Easter event. Palladio’s Spring Fling will feature fun activities for kids of all ages, including a visit with the Easter Bunny! In case of rain, this event will be moved to Saturday, April 15.
Breakfast With the Bunny in Fair Oaks

Enjoy a delicious breakfast, craft and photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny on Wednesday, April 12 at the Fair Oaks Community Clubhouse. Tickets cost $10 per child and $12 per adult, and you must register in advance. This is a fun and interactive way to mingle with the Easter Bunny!
North Highlands Breakfast With the Bunny

Folsom Parks & Recreation is hosting their 23rd Annual Spring Eggstravaganza at Lembi Park. Join the fun and festivities, featuring family entertainment, vendor booths, carnival booths, an egg hunt and much more!
Arden Park Easter Egg-Stravaganza

Arden Park Recreation & Park District is hosting a huge Easter party this year, featuring a pancake breakfast, carnival games and an egg hunt. Enjoy carnival games and a pancake breakfast from 8:30 to 10 a.m.; the breakfast includes pancakes, ham, Danish pastries, fruit, orange juice, coffee and hot chocolate, and costs $5 per person. Children are divided into separate age groups for the egg hunt, starting at 10:15 a.m. Each age group has the opportunity to find a special egg for the prize basket!

Pre-registration is encouraged as seating is limited. Tickets cost $5 per person in advance and $7 at the door, and children 2 years and under are $1. After breakfast, head outside for their Spring Egg’stravaganza!

Elk Grove Regional Park (Elk Grove)
This free and family-friendly event is a must-attend for Elk Grove residents and visitors alike. Event highlights include the Egg Scramble (egg hunt), visits with the Easter Bunny, springtime games, the Carrot Train, an Egg Drop with the CSD Fire Department, pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, inflatables and carnival games, and food vendors. The best part about all of this? Admission to Spring Egg’stravaganza is completely free!
El Dorado Hills Egg Hunt

El Dorado Hills Community Park (El Dorado Hills)
Head to El Dorado Hills Community Park for arts and crafts and a visit from the Easter Bunny himself, followed by an egg hunt starting at 10 a.m. Areas will be roped off into four age categories, and children will search for eggs filled with candy and assorted goodies. Bring your own baskets to join in on the fun!

This fun “Aqua-Egg Hunt” puts a twist on your everyday egg hunt! The Easter Bunny will hop into the El Dorado Hills Community Pool to visit boys and girls collecting floating plastic eggs, which can be redeemed for candy and assorted special goodies. This event costs $10 per person.
Carmichael Egg Hunt & Pancake Breakfast

Join the Carmichael Recreation and Park District for egg hunts, arts and crafts, visits with the Easter Bunny, and a pancake breakfast. Children are advised to bring their own baskets for egg collection, and will hunt for eggs according to their age groups.
Easter Eggstravaganza at Fair Oaks Park

There will be quite the party at Fair Oaks Park for their annual Easter Eggstravaganza. Join the free egg hunt for children ages 0–13, or the $3 adult egg hunt! You may purchase a $10 wristband for unlimited carnival games and inflatables, one choo-choo ride, and one face painting. Carnival tickets are also available for purchase. Get some fuel for this action-packed day with breakfast offered beforehand, costing $5 for adults and $3 for children.
Kids’ Easter Egg Hunt

Sunrise Community Church (Fair Oaks)
Head to Sunrise Community Church’s annual Easter celebration, featuring fun activities such as bounce houses, crafts, face painting, food for purchase, and of course, egg hunts for kids up to 5th grade! This is a completely free event open to the public.

West Sacramento Recreation Center (West Sacramento)
The City of West Sacramento puts on an annual Spring Celebration, featuring egg hunts by age groups, face painting booths, games, prizes and music! If the weather is pleasant, the event will take place outside the Recreation Center and will move inside if it is raining.
Cameron Park Easter Egg Hunt

Rassmussen Park (Cameron Park)
The 34th Annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by Cameron Park CSD is a free and fun community event that should not be missed. Head to Rassmussen Park for egg hunts, photos with the Easter Bunny, face painting and a bounce house.
North Highlands Spring Fling
Saturday, April 15 | 10 a.m.–12 p.m.
Freedom Park (McClellan Park)
Children 12 and under are invited to a fun (and free!) community egg hunt at Freedom Park. Before the hunt, enjoy balloon twisters, carnival games, a petting zoo and much more. Then, the children will be divided into age groups for the hunt, which starts at 10:15.
Spring Eggstravaganza

Fairytale Town (Sacramento)
Fairytale Town is hosting a special ticketed event on Easter weekend, featuring egg hunts, prizes, spring-themed arts and crafts, special performances and more. Daily hunts will be held at 12, 1 and 2 p.m., and will be divided into age groups. Puppet Art Theater Company will perform “Bunny Bootcamp” in the Children’s Theater at 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30 p.m., costing $1 for members and $2 for nonmembers. Plus, you may visit with Peter Cottontail on the Mother Goose stage throughout the day. Fairytale Town’s Spring Eggstravaganza costs $7 per person, and members and children 1 and under are free.
Underwater Easter Egg Hunt

Fruitridge Aquatic Center (Sacramento)
Children 12 and under are invited to this unique and exciting underwater egg hunt at the Fruitridge Aquatic Center! There will be a prize for the Golden Egg, and a special treat for all egg hunters. Egg hunt participants may enjoy an open-swim time before and after the hunt. Entrance to the Underwater Easter Egg Hunt costs $3 per child.
Sacramento Easter River Cruise

Enjoy a peaceful one-hour cruise along the Sacramento River this Easter, in addition to a special visit from the Easter Bunny! Hornblower tours include live narration explaining Sacramento River facts and history, scenic Sacramento views, concessions and more. The Easter River Cruise boards at the L Street Dock at 1:15 p.m.
