Sac Homes Deck the Halls with Holiday Lights
From modern to Victorian and townhomes to country cottages, neighborhoods throughout the Sacramento area are lighting up their communities with Christmas spirit this month, much to the delight of holiday revelers of all ages.
Where are some of the best places to take in the twinkling spectacles? The State Capitol is a majestic place to start. A 61-foot white fir adorned with 900 handcrafted ornaments and 10,000 lights stands at the West Steps of the building.
The Fabulous 40s in East Sac was essentially designed to showcase holiday spirit. The breathtaking homes go above and beyond just simple lights, presenting an elegant and inviting landscape of holiday cheer. The blocks between 40th and 49th streets (between J Street and Folsom Blvd.) are especially popular.
Land Park and Curtis Park are also neighborhoods with estimable displays. Scenic every day of the year, these homes (particularly between Broadway and Vallejo and along East and West Curtis Drives) are nothing short of magical in December.
The Sacramento Bee has highlighted a handful of individual homes that are creating their own stir. Placerville’s 446 Canal Street (70,000 lights and a 13-foot Santa) and 2975 Five Mile Road (24,000 lights and a Santa that can be seen from Highway 50) are both attracting a steady stream of spectators.
In Rocklin, homes on Pebble Creek Drive and Strand Road attract convoys of carloads, while the stunning setup at 10625 in Rancho Cordova has inspired neighbors to step up their displays with synchronized music.
