Pantone Predicts Pastels for 2016

Contemplating a new color for your home this year? Consider Rose Quartz and Serenity. Those are the two colors the Pantone Color Institute have selected to be the colors for 2016. It marks the first time two colors have been chosen.

Pantone, a world-renowned authority on color and color communication, notes that the blending of the two soft, muted shades demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer rose and a cooler, tranquil blue. The result reflects connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.

Rose Quartz is described as a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and composure while Serenity is weightless and airy, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation in turbulent times.

Previous colors of the year include Marsala (2015), Radiant Orchid (2014), and Emerald (2013).
