Sac is Ninth Fastest Growing Area in California
The numbers are out. And as reported by the Sacramento Business Journal, the U.S. Census showed that the Sacramento-Roseville-Arden area added approximately 78 residents a day throughout 2014, for a total of 28,627 new residents over the year, a 1.3 percent growth year-over-year. The figures make the region the ninth fastest growing metropolitan area in California.
Sacramento County alone ranks as the 13th fastest growing county in the state. Alameda topped the list of fastest growing counties (growing two percent).
Neighboring counties also fared well in terms of growth, with Placer County experiencing a 1.2 percent increase, Yolo County 1.5 percent, and El Dorado 0.7 percent, during the same time frame.
