Susie Cakes Comes to Sac

Some say cupcakes are passé – surpassed by the cronut and macaroon. But real comfort food never goes out of style and millions continue to indulge in the frosting-covered morsels of love. Sacramentans with a sweet tooth will be pleased to see that Susie Cakes opened a shop at the Pavilions Shopping Center in the Arden– Sierra Oaks–Campus Commons area.

With more than 15 locations throughout California, Susie’s has been featured in Time Magazine, Sunset, and Food & Wine and specializes in classic American (and designer) cakes, puddings, pies, and bars. While Susie’s may have a strong regional following, many locals may already be committed to one of their longtime local favorites – the nearby Ettore’s European Bakery; Freeport Bakery on the border of Land Park and Curtis Park; Pushkins in Winn Park; Karen’s Bakery Café in Folsom; Terri Does Desserts in Elk Grove; and Nothing Bundt Cakes in Roseville.
