Spotlight on Sierra Oaks Office

Real estate is as highly complex as it is intensely competitive, so  the better the training for agents, the better results for their clients. General Manager of Sierra Oaks Office of Lyon Real Estate, Jim Waters, has all the numbers to prove it.

Nationally, only one in 10 people entering the real estate profession actually manage to make it into a career. For Waters’ office, where training and a commitment to quality are hallmarks, five out of 10 people find the skills necessary to succeed in real estate.

“People feel that they’re supported here, that the company is committed to them. They express that commitment back through an attitude that doesn’t allow for compromise in serving our clients,” Waters said. “You’ve got some talent here that is beyond any one person.”

Today, the Sierra Oaks Office of Lyon Real Estate is entering 2014 with its highest agent count in history — 130 — and has added four new agents in January alone. The growth is part of Sierra Oaks size and market dominance that reflects a relentless drive to nurture the best real estate talent available.

The results speak for themselves. The Sierra Oaks Office of Lyon Real Estate was responsible for 75 percent of all 2013 sales measured by unit, and 46 percent measured in total dollars for its territory.  In addition to Sierra Oaks, the office covers East Sacramento’s Fab 40s along with Arden and Carmichael. That volume is double that of the closest competitor in the area, and includes Sierra Oaks’ being behind 19 percent of last year’s property transactions in the high-end $750,000 and over market.

Half of the top 10 real estate sales in 2013, for all of Sacramento, were closed at the Sierra Oaks Office of Lyon Real Estate, which sold a total of 1,091 homes last year.

Outside of selling homes, the team at Sierra Oaks Office of Lyon Real Estate is recognized for giving back to the community. Agents, brokers and office staff volunteer with Loaves and Fishes, and actively participate in Lyon Real Estate’s region-wide blood drives and winter coat donation drives. As throughout Lyon Real Estate, agents are given the opportunity and time to actively participate in charities of their choice, like Blessings in a Backpack, a nonprofit that feeds elementary school-aged children in need during weekends.

“There’s a culture of excellence in this office that’s been passed on since the company’s inception, and that extends from serving our clients, to serving our community,” Waters said.
